These pictures are from the branch house in Tiberius. The group picture is taken from the top of the roof.

The first picture is the synagogue in Capernaum where Jesus taught, and then a road just behind it. And then the last one is Kursi, the traditional site where Jesus cast the devils into the swine and they ran off of the cliff into the water. There was a monastery built there, but I can't remember when it was built.

The first two are of the Sea of Galilee, and the church is where they think Jesus was transfigured.

The top two are a lookout up above the sea of Galilee. And then the last one is the beach of the Kibutz where we stayed for a week and a half.

The first two pictures are of the Mount of Transfiguration. Then the last one is in Nain. It's the small chapel that is said to be where the Savior raised the widow of Nain's son from the dead.

The sea again, and then the chapel that commemorates the feeding of the 5,000.

A Galilee lookout.

The top picture is the plaza right in the center of the city and across from the Church of the Nativity. Then the middle picture is modern day Bethlehem. And the bottom is a field that our teachers called, "Shepard's Field." We went there to ponder and study the birth of the Savior. The city in the background is Bethlehem.

Our last stop before we crossed the border back into Israel was the Jordan River. The middle picture was a place that was recently discovered. For a long time it was in a military zone, but when they opened it back up they found this place where it was said that Jesus was baptized. Literally right across the river after about 10 feet of the bank is the border between Jordan and Israel.

Still in Jerash.

Our next stop was Jerash an ancient city in Jordan. A few of the boys ran a little race, then we walked through some of the ruins and ended up in a theater. After about two minutes...I don't know if you would call them a band or not...but this group of 5 men came in and started playing the bag pipes. It was really funny at first because we were in Jordan....but they were quite the performers and played several songs.

And on the way out of Petra...why not ride a horse? Minna and I rode 3 different animals for a grand total of 9 dollars that day. It was great. The middle picture is the beginnings of a fig tree...the figs appear before the leaves. And the top picture is one of my people pictures. I think that my people pictures are some of my very favorite pictures that I have taken while I've been here.

More Petra...after we walked down and had lunch, Minna (my roommate) and I decided that we wanted to ride the camels....so we did! Now we just need to ride one in Israel and we will have ridden them in 3 countries.

More in Petra. The bottom picture is a monistery that's 900 steps and a good hike above the rest of it all.... Or you can ride a donkey for 3 dollars to the top. It was an amazing ride and super fun.

A few pictures on the way into Petra.

I took the top picture on Mount Nebo where Moses was able to see the promised land with the symbol of the serpent. The second picture is Machaerus where John the Baptist was beheaded. And the last picture is the first stone carving we saw as we walked into see Petra.
